Terms and Conditions: Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI
These Terms and Conditions govern all travel services and bookings made with Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI. By confirming your reservation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by the policies outlined below.
Booking, Deposits, and Final Payments
To secure your private MPV Family Car, Transport, 4WD Jeep and professional local guides, a 20% deposit is required at the time of booking.
- Confirmation: Your adventure is officially reserved once Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI receives your deposit and issues a written confirmation.
- Final Balance: The remaining 80% must be settled at least 7 days prior to your tour start date. For last-minute bookings (2–5 days before), full payment is required immediately.
- Transaction Fees: All payments must be received in full. Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI is not liable for third-party processing fees, bank charges, or credit card surcharges.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that travel plans can change. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI and are subject to the following fees based on the total tour price:
- 35+ Days Before: No cancellation fee (100% refund of deposit).
- 11–34 Days Before: 30% cancellation fee.
- 3–10 Days Before: 50% cancellation fee.
- Within 48 Hours: 100% cancellation fee (No refund).
Volcanic Force Majeure & Acts of God
Safety is our absolute priority. Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI is not liable for delays, injuries, or the inability to perform services caused by circumstances beyond our control. This includes:
- Volcanic Activity: Sudden closures of Bromo or Ijen by national park rangers due to gas levels or tremors.
- Natural Events: Earthquakes, floods, or extreme weather.
- Political/Social: Civil unrest, strikes, or government-mandated health restrictions.
In these events, we will work tirelessly to provide an alternative itinerary (such as substituting a volcano for a waterfall) or rescheduling your trip.
Travel Insurance & Medical Fitness
- Insurance: Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI does not provide insurance. We strongly mandate that all travelers obtain comprehensive travel insurance from their home country covering medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and adventure activities (hiking).
- Health: You are responsible for assessing your physical fitness for high-altitude trekking. Please disclose any medical conditions to Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI prior to booking. We cannot guarantee medical facility quality in remote regions of East Java.
Liability & Personal Responsibility
Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI acts as an organizer and is not responsible for:
- Loss or theft of personal belongings (including items left in vehicles or hotels).
- Personal injury resulting from your own actions or failure to follow guide instructions.
- Delays caused by third-party providers (hotels, ferries, or airlines).
Digital Media and Marketing
By joining our tour, you consent to being photographed or filmed by the Ijen Bromo Tour by GWI team.
We may use these authentic images for social media and marketing. If you prefer total privacy, simply notify Gigeh Sugiantoro (Gigeh) or your guide before the trek begins.
Resolutions and Complaints
If something isn’t right, tell us immediately during the tour so we can fix it. Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 20 days of your tour completion to be eligible for review.
